The World Nomad Games are more than a sporting event — they are a celebration of nomadic life, culture, and traditions that have been passed down for centuries. People from all over the world come together to experience ancient games, music, crafts, and the unique spirit of nomadic peoples.

During the Games, a traditional nomad camp of more than 150 yurts is set up in Kyrchyn Jailoo, a beautiful mountain valley about 30 km from Cholpon-Ata, near Lake Issyk-Kul. Here, visitors can see how nomads live, taste local food, listen to folk music, and feel the real atmosphere of nomadic life.

First held in 2014 in Kyrgyzstan, the World Nomad Games quickly became a major international event. After being hosted in other countries, the Games are returning to Kyrgyzstan, where it all began, making this a very special time to visit the country.

This 10-day group tour is designed for travelers who want to fully experience the World Nomad Games while also exploring the natural beauty of Kyrgyzstan. You will visit Son-Kul Lake, one of the most iconic high-mountain lakes in the country, where you can stay in yurts, ride horses, and enjoy the peaceful nomadic lifestyle.

After the Games, the journey continues around the southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake, known for its stunning landscapes, colorful canyons, and traditional villages. The tour combines exciting nomadic sports, breathtaking nature, and authentic cultural experiences, offering a journey you will remember for a lifetime.

Itinerary

Day 1: Bishkek - Arrival

Arrival at Manas International Airport. Meet & Greet service and private transfer to Bishkek (30-40min) with scenic views of the Ala too Mountains.

Arrival at 3-4* hotel and chek-in.

Lunch at Navat restaurant. After lunch - free time at leisure to relax at the hotel, enjoy spa facilities, or explore the city independently.

Day 2: Bishkek -Opening Ceremony

This day is very important day for Kyrgyz people, because today is independence day of Kyrgyzstan. After the breakfast we drive to the city centre, where will pass lively parade, official ceremonies, folk dances, live music and cultural shows. Lunch will be at city centre.

Ater lunch around 3p.m we move to the new Bishkek Arena Stadium where will pass Opening Ceremony of World Nomad Games.

Day 3: Bishkek-Cholpon ata

Start our day with a smooth and comfortable journey from Bishkek to Cholpon-Ata, enjoying the changing landscapes of wide valleys, mountains, and open skies along the way. Our first stop is the beautiful Kok-Moynok Canyons, where nature’s shapes and colors create a peaceful and impressive setting, perfect for a short walk and photos.

We then continue to Balykchy City for a relaxed lunch, taking time to enjoy local flavors near the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul. In the afternoon, we visit the famous Cholpon-Ata Petroglyphs, an open-air site where ancient rock carvings tell stories of early civilizations against a stunning natural backdrop.

By evening, we arrive in Cholpon-Ata for hotel check-in. The rest of the evening is yours to relax and enjoy the calm atmosphere of Issyk-Kul, ending the day in comfort and style.

Day 4: Cholpon Ata - World Nomad Games

Today we will visit the legendary Kok Boru Games will bring powerful energy and ancient tradition to Cholpon-Ata’s horse racing track. This iconic nomadic sport, played on horseback, is one of the most exciting cultural experiences in Kyrgyzstan. Fast, intense, and deeply rooted in history, Kok Boru showcases the strength, skill, and teamwork of riders in a dramatic open-air setting near Lake Issyk-Kul. For visitors, it’s a rare opportunity to witness authentic nomadic heritage come alive in one unforgettable event.

Day 5: Cholpon ata city - Kyrchyn pasture - Karakol

Today after the breakfast we will move to the  Kyrchyn Pasture, near Cholpon-Ata, is the heart of nomadic culture and the main venue of the World Nomad Games. Surrounded by wide green valleys and mountain peaks, this stunning alpine pasture transforms into a living nomad village with traditional yurts, horseback games, cultural performances, and crafts. Visitors can experience authentic nomadic life, ancient sports, and a festive international atmosphere in one of Kyrgyzstan’s most beautiful natural settings. Lunch will be there with fantastic and scenic view. By the evening we will move to the Karakol city where  known for its short but rich history, multicultural heritage, and proximity to dramatic mountain landscapes. It serves as a gateway to hiking, alpine scenery, and traditional villages, while also offering cultural landmarks such as the Dungan Mosque and Orthodox Church. For travelers, Karakol is the perfect blend of nature, culture, and local life, making it an essential stop on any journey around Lake Issyk-Kul.

Dinner will be at local restaurant Archa.

Day 6: Karakol - Arashan gorge - Karakol

Start our day in Karakol and travel into the mountains toward the beautiful Altyn Arashan Gorge, one of the region’s most peaceful natural retreats. The journey offers fresh mountain air, alpine scenery, and views of pine forests and rushing rivers. In Arashan, enjoy time to relax, explore the valley, or soak in the famous natural hot springs surrounded by untouched nature. And lunch with scenic view of Palatka pick.

After a refreshing break, return to Karakol in the afternoon, carrying with you the calm atmosphere and stunning mountain memories of this unforgettable day in the Tien Shan Mountains.

Day 7: Karakol-Bokombaevo

Begin our day in Karakol and head toward Bokonbayevo, with a scenic stop to admire the Seven Bulls Rocks, a striking natural landmark that offers great photo opportunities. Continue through the dramatic Barskoon Gorge, where you’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch surrounded by towering cliffs and lush greenery.

In the afternoon, explore the magical Fairy Tale Canyon, a unique landscape of sculpted rock formations that feels like stepping into another world. By evening, arrive at Kayirma Guesthouse for a cozy overnight stay, perfect for resting after a day of incredible scenery and adventure.

Day 8: Bokombaevo - Son Kol lake

Begin our journey from Bokombayevo and drive through the dramatic Kalmak-Ashuu Pass, where the road winds through high mountain landscapes and offers breathtaking panoramic views. This scenic route brings you closer to the heart of Kyrgyzstan’s alpine beauty.

Along the way, enjoy a picnic in the mountains, surrounded by fresh air, wide-open skies, and peaceful nature. It’s the perfect moment to relax, take photos, and feel the freedom of the highlands.

By evening, arrive at Son-Kul Lake and enjoy free time to wander the shores, watch grazing horses, and soak in the serene atmosphere of this iconic mountain lake.

Day 9 Sonkol lake - Chon Kemin

Wake up in a cozy yurt beside Son-Kul Lake, surrounded by quiet mountain air and endless meadow views. Start your day with warm hospitality, a traditional Kyrgyz breakfast, and the peaceful rhythm of nomadic life. For a truly memorable experience, enjoy horse riding across the open pastures, feeling the freedom of the highlands.After leaving Son-Kul, on the way Lunch at Kochkor town. Travel through scenic alpine landscapes as you descend toward Chon Kemin Valley, known for its lush greenery and calm river views. Once you arrive, you can choose to enjoy an optional easy hike, perfect for stretching your legs and exploring the valley’s natural beauty at a relaxed pace.

Day 10: Chon kemin - Bishkek - Airport

Leave the peaceful Chon Kemin Valley and enjoy a scenic drive back to Bishkek, watching the landscape change from lush river valleys to the city’s vibrant energy. On the way, stop at the historic Burana Tower, an ancient minaret that offers a fascinating glimpse into Kyrgyzstan’s Silk Road heritage.

For lunch, we’ll stop at Hawai, where you can relax and enjoy a delicious meal before continuing to Bishkek. The trip ends in the capital, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Kyrgyzstan’s nature, culture, and history.

  • Due to high-altitude and mountainous locations, warm clothing is strongly recommended.
