This popular Ak-Suu Traverse Trek begins in the small Kyrgyz village of Boz Uchuk and travels the entire length of Ak-Suu, ending at the Soviet-era health resort at Jeti-Oguz. Or vice versa. Along the way, one passes through stunning lakes, snow-capped mountain peaks, and glaciers. You will cross 6 valleys of the Tian Shan Mountains.

Level of difficulty: This trek is for people with good health and training because of the long passages over rough terrain, sharp fluctuations in temperature, and ascents to a height of 3860 meters above sea level.

Itinerary

Day 1: Start of Ak-Suu Traverse Trek – Jeti-Oguz – Telety pass, 8km, +600m

Following a meeting at the hotel, you will drive to the start of the Telety pass in the Jeti-Oguz valley. Once there, you will begin hiking through a few villages, where you will be able to observe local life, houses, and buildings through the car window. The final village on the route is Djety-Oguz, which means "Seven Bulls" in the Kyrgyz language. This village is known for its remarkably vibrant red sandstone rock formations, some of the most well-known being "Broken Heart" and "Seven Bulls." You will continue driving through lush forests up to the mountains, starting our trek at the base of the Telety pass. Once there, you will camp at an altitude of 2800 feet in front of Muz-Too Rocks.

Day 2: Telety pass – Alp camp, 12km, +700m, -1200m

Today, we are heading to the Karakol Valley and beginning our ascent to the 3,800-meter-high Telety Pass. This pass has two tough ascents at the start, but the view from the summit is worth it. descend to the Telety-East valley and wait for the first lunch spot that is convenient. After lunch, there is a descent to the 2500 meter-high Alp Camp in the Karakol Valley.

Day 3: Alp Camp – Ala-Kul lake – Keldike valley, 9km, +1200m, - 300m

We start our ascent to the 3533-meter-high Ala-kul Lake. This amazing lake will leave you in awe. A hidden gem surrounded by rocks, Ala-Kul Lake lies between the towering Terskey Ala Too Mountains. It is situated at a height of around 3533 meters. You will also be able to see the glacier that forms the base of this lake. You will get the chance to take in an incredible vista of mountain peaks including Djigit, Karakol, and Tashtanbek peaks as you ascend this route. going up to the 3,800-meter-high Ala-Kul summit and then down to the Keldike Valley.

Day 4: Keldike valley – Altyn-Arashan, 13km, -1000m

We will now move on to the Altyn-Arashan valley. Many people are drawn to Altyn-Arashan by its incredibly gorgeous vistas. There will be international visitors that you will meet. While some of them just stop there for a day, others remain for a week or longer, taking in the tranquility and splendor of this valley. The hot springs of Altyn-Arashan valley are well-known. There are eight or nine pools with varying temperatures of radon water. A few of them were constructed next to a river and outdoors. They are separated by a considerable amount. Thus, you may plan a romantic evening for your partner.

Day 5: Altyn Arashan valley – Almallu river, 11 km, +1150m

Here in Altyn Arashan, You'll be able to witness the 5020-meter-high Peak Palatka ice glacier, which originated in the shape of a tent. After that, you'll begin a leisurely hike around the valley where you may snap pictures of shepherds, horses, and goats. You will begin your ascent in the middle of the day to reach the 3780-meter Ortok Pass, after which you will descend for the night to the Ak-Suu Almallu River.

Day 6: Ak-Suu Almallu river - Jergez valley, 11km, +910m, - 500m

You begin the day in the shrub- and rock-filled Almallu valley and ascend to the 3670-meter Ailanysh Pass. After crossing the Ailanysh pass, you will descend to 2400 meters in the Jergez valley. So many unfamiliar names but you will remember the views for a long time.

Day 7: Jergez valley - Boz-Uchuk lakes, 10km, + - 600m

You will reach the Boz Uchuk lakes after traversing a 3524-meter pass. Small lakes are not encircled by hills and rocks. We plan to camp near the lakes, providing excellent opportunities for sunset and sunrise photography.

Day 8: Boz Uchuk lakes – Boz uchuk valley, 15 km, – 1300m.

The final day's walk down is rather simple. A whole day is needed to return to a normal life. After hiking for the first half of the day, our staff will drive you to Karakol.
