  • Tien Shan Mountains

With 40 peaks rising above 6,000 m (19,685 ft), the Tian Shan is a powerful mountain range that stretches 2,800 km (1,740 miles) long and 800 km (500 miles) wide at its widest point. While Tian Shan is located in multiple countries, Kyrgyzstan is home to the majority of it.

The Tian Shan is typically separated into the

  • Northern,
  • Western,
  • Eastern,
  • Central, and

  • Pamir Mountains

Along the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, only the highest peaks of the Pamirs are located in Kyrgyzstan. Osh may be reached by car from two of the main ranges, the Pamir-Alay and the Trans-Alay. The highest point in these ranges is Peak Lenin, which is situated 7,134 meters (23,406 ft) above sea level. Even though Peak Lenin is among the easiest heights over 7,000 meters to climb, weather-related problems can make the ascent unpredictably hazardous and challenging.

Pamir has one of the highest mountain roads; it is more than 3000m above sea level, which is called the Pamir Highway. Pamir Highway starts from Dushanbe (Tajikistan) to Osh City (Kyrgyzstan) through the Great Pamir Mountain Range.
